What we collect and why

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type (income, debts, down payment) are never sent to us or anyone else, unless you explicitly choose to share your results through a form. We use cookieless analytics, so there is no tracking to consent to and no cookie banner.

Anonymous, aggregate usage data: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from (search, social, direct), and how far people get through the calculator steps. This data contains no names, no email addresses, no cookies, no device fingerprints, and never the dollar amounts you enter. We use it to understand where the calculator is confusing and to see whether people find us through search.

If you submit the form on the results panel, we store: your email address, the date and time you consented, and a snapshot of your calculated result (the estimated price and mortgage, not your raw inputs). We use it to notify you about the lender comparison launch and related product updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honour it immediately.

Form submissions are stored in our database hosted in Canada (Montréal region). Anonymous analytics are processed by our analytics providers. We do not sell or rent any data to anyone.

Email records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. If we introduce broker referrals, referral records will be kept only as long as needed to facilitate the introduction, then archived. You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion at any time by writing to privacy@secondhomecanada.ca.
